It is my first time experiencing IHGs and now I can fully understand the passion that it evokes from all involved. I recall one training session in a sport when the captain repeatedly reminded us newbies that the IHGs were all about passion. "Whoever wants it more will win it." was what he said. And now, looking at the all the events so far, it is very clear (sadly) that our dear Temaks do want it more. I'm not saying in terms of the sportsmen (the teams I am in are full of people who are willing to shed blood, sweat and guts for Eusoff...people like our National Hero, Badrul and Jeff, if you were to cut them in half, I will have no doubt you will find "EUSOFF" written throughout them.), but in terms of the SUPPORT.

I too was there for the Squash finals and looked in horror at the severe lack of yellow-shirted people to support Ben and Jasmine's teams. I couldn't stay for long (had to take part in another event for Eusoff) but the impact was there. It was very very clear that TH wants the IHG more than we want to keep it with us. It was not for squash only; Tug-of-War also had little support, when I am sure that more guys/gals coming down would have given us an edge over RH. The guys softball team also were demoralized not only by the rain, the KR support, the (for want of a better word) fucked up convenor but the lack of our own fans who turned up in full force against RH on saturday. Sure, it was raining, but hell, it was the SEMIS and we needed all the help we could get. Contrast this with the TH support for their own softball team, when they refused to give up and in large numbers, cheered their team for their "miraculous" comeback.

The lesson is clear; if our hall does not buck up in their efforts to bring fans down, we will give up our title without any doubt. And if we do that, it won't be the relinquishing of the title back to TH that will hurt; what will hurt is that the hall gave it up without much of a fight from EVERYONE. I've tried to get my own pals in my floor to go around to support and some of us do go down. I just hope everyone else does the same, as the situation will be much different. My wish is that HUNDREDS will go down on Monday to cheer our guy on against the old enemy in the squash decider. The odds are against us but if we all do show up, it will have a positive effect.
